A skipper invited you to assist in gathering your data for your Sailing Trip together. This involves your personal data such as Name, Birthday, Address, Document Numbers, and the like. Therefore, you are naturally concerned about why or how your data is processed and stored.

Data Usage and Privacy in Our App

The mobile app (not this website) may use your device's location and, if selected, sound recordings, solely for the purpose of aiding logbook entry documentation. You are responsible for ensuring that any collection and use of data through the app complies with applicable privacy laws. The data is only used locally for the purpose of creating the desired documentation of the sailing trip. Crew Data management is handled by an encrypted web service, its use is optional. We do not collect or analyze any data within the app or the Web service. In the demo, we use fictional, generic names. These names and addresses are selected with the intent to be as non-specific as possible, ensuring that any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, or real addresses, is purely coincidental.

In order to support our app and provide a free service to our users, we have integrated AdMob, a Google-provided advertising service, into our app. AdMob may collect and use information about your device and your use of the app to display personalized advertisements. This information can include your device's IP address, device identifiers, and information about the ads you view and interact with. We take your privacy seriously and have implemented a consent management framework to ensure that you have full control over the collection and use of your data by AdMob. Upon first use of our app, you will be prompted to provide consent for the collection and use of this data for advertising purposes. Please note that if you do not consent to the collection of data by AdMob, you may still see ads. Our use of AdMob is designed to respect your privacy and comply with applicable laws, including the GDPR for users in the European Union. Privacy and Data Security on Our Website

As your privacy is a top priority in enabling this web service, and dealing with such data is very sensitive, none of the data you entered is stored unencrypted in our database. Only the person that invited you to enter your information is able to collect and decrypt the information for further use regarding your trip and is responsible for further handling your private data responsibly. We will not (and are not able to) view, modify, decrypt, analyze, or reuse the data you enter. The data will be erased 90 days after the process was started.
